#lofoten2016 – Reine

#lofoten2016 – Reine. Our next step.

So, this is beautiful place, but…. I think this is the most killed by touristic place. The whole Reine it is just the houses to rent for tourists, little food shop, two petrol station and at the end close to the pier big parking for Campers. The houses looks nice, renewed, painted in red, but the rest it is just disaster. The biggest disaster is the camper parking. Long time ago someone wanted to make this place nice, now, everywhere around laying some parts of everything. Cables, wood, stones, steel rods. And of course thousands of people. Some of them coming for a while, to take a photo or selfie in the most known place in Lofoten. Some walking round looking for the rest of authentic fisherman village, all the rest spend the time in fast food. This is Lofoten and Reine today. I love Northern Norway after this visit, I will be back here many times, but probably I will never visit again this place. Maybe I will climb the mountains around. This seems to be a nice adventure. Like I wrote it yesterday, I vote for the option to limit the touristic. This is me….

Below is the few pictures from Reine, enjoy it…

A 50 years old hobby photographer based in Bergen, Hordaland, Norway. I just want to show You a little dreamy world of old boat houses, old red barns. Generally , the world a little bit on the side, little bit different, because I look on everything a little bit bit on the side. I use the old canon camera, and I never ever used PS.... One day i Will photograph the Quintessence of everything. I promise... This is me and my world. Welcome.

  1. Very dramatic photos! The next to last photo with the ship is my favorite. As for tourism that is probably how these small places get most of their money. In Moville, the town relies on tourism. It brings in the most money. Jobs are few and it’s hard for the local business people to survive but they are doing the best they can. Tourists here come in buses, planes or they drive and are only here for a short visit. There are neighboring places they want to see before they head back to wherever they live. Anyway, that is just my take on it. I think tourism is important for smaller communities and the people should respect the areas they visit. I believe most people do, at least here they do.
It’s nice to see the northern area of Norway! Enjoy the day Inna!

  2. That’s what’s great about photos. It all looks wonderful in the pictures. I especially love the red houses. The fact that it’s all for tourists is sad but that’s what’s happening in many places around the world. I suppose the locals are happy that tourists are still coming.
